TPA is a kind of temporary plugging agent, it can temporarily block the high-permeability section, modify the infectivity profile of acid solution, expand the acidizing scope and improve the acidizing effect. Effective temporary blocking and diverting is very important to ensure the selective distribution of acid. The diverting agent is of good suspension and dispersion, can selectively enter the high permeability section, produce temporary blockage, and evenly guide the acid to different permeability section. 

The formation of low-permeability solid particle filter cake in the oil layer that has been acidized and the permeability has been improved reduces the permeability of the surface layer, so as to change the flow profile of the injection liquid, so the acid liquid can be injected into the non acidified section more, and prevent the over acidification of the acidified interval at the same time. Moreover, some diverting agents used in acid fracturing can also reduce the filtration of acid along the crack wall, so as to form deeper cracks and improve the effect of acid fracturing.

TPA is a kind of granular plugging agent,can be dispersed in acid. The swelling coefficient of acid absorption is about 5-10 times. It can also be used in the temporary plugging of water-based fracturing, it can be degraded within a predetermined time when hydrated with water.
