Flocculant(PAM) for hydro-metallurgical process

Hydro-metallurgical method is the most widely used process in nonferrous metal operation in lead-zinc,gold,copper,cobalt mining, after leaching and solid-liquid separation,flocculants can accelerate the fine particles settling and greatly improve the production efficiency.

However, during hydrometallurgy,strong acid is usually used, the slurry pH value is around 1-1.5, ordinary anionic flocculant is not ideal, it might have large flocs, but the top clarity is not ideal. Cationic flocculant with low cationic charge has excellent sedimentation and clarity effect, while after repeatedly testing, it shows that it has an adverse impact on the later extraction process. In particular, the residual reacts with the extractant.

The use of non-ionic polyacrylamide(NPAM) neutral polyacrylamide in the later stage can not only effectively settle impurities, but also will not have an adverse impact on the later extraction after repeated tests.

Nonionic polyacrylamide(NPAM) can maintain good sedimentation effect under acidic conditions. Since it does not contain any charge and will not have an adverse impact on the later process, the only thing to be reminded is that it is necessary to use an appropriate amount of PAM instead of excessive use.

Dissolve PAM completely to avoid any fish eyes.
